OSF - personalizing a web-site for a small business
Eclipse Technologies Inc. created their first generation web-site to sell their technical recruiting product called Power Place. As the web evolved they felt the website needed a more professional design. OSF created a website that was beautiful, easy to navigate and captured the spirit of the company.
Eclipse Technologies is a good example of one of our package websites. In design sessions with Eclipse, OSF learned the basics of their business. We learned what product they sold, how they sold it (phone or personal visits), who purchased their product (the secretary or the president) and who would most likely use it.
After studying their logo, getting the answers to these questions, we had a good feel for their business, their customers, and their desired business presentation. It was important that their web-site was uncluttered, non-intimidating and intuitive because they needed to communicate that their product was as easy to understand as their web-site. In addition to a professional look, they wanted a web-site that was friendly, with a touch of humor that communicated “we are nice people to do business with…you’ll enjoy working with us”.
To this end OSF created Eclipse Technologies Inc. web-site. The site has proved to be successful.
